Q: What are your Opening Hours?
Monday: 9.30am to 7.00pm, Tuesday: 9.30am to 5.30pm, Wednesday: 9.30am to 5.30pm, Thursday: 9.30am to 8.00pm, Friday: 9.30am to 7.00pm, Saturday: 9.30am to 5.00pm, Sunday: closed .
Q: How much does it cost to hire a costume?
Adult Costume Hire Rates (including wigs, shoes & accessories) range between $51 – $88. Mascots $98.
Primary School Student rates start at $30 up to $46.
Secondary School Student rates start at $35 up to $64
A bond of $70 is required for most costumes (The bond can be cash, EFTPOS or a credit card pre-auth., which is returned to you when the costumes come back on time and undamaged. The bond may be increased to $140 per costume for those outside Melbourne or without ID.
Q: How long can I hire the costumes for?
For weekend hires, costumes can be taken on Friday or Saturday and returned on Monday.
Costumes hired on weekdays are up to three days. i.e. collect the day before and return the day after use.
If you need the costume for a longer period, talk to our staff about the cost of extending your hire.
Q: When and what do I need to book my costume?
Costumes can be booked at any time prior to the hire date, depending on availability.
Booking in your costume early gives you the greatest variety of choice, and gives us time to do any required alterations.
Identification is required when hiring – a Victorian driver’s license with current address, or photo ID with a recent bill with your address.
Just remember that you don’t need to book – the majority of our customers come in for costumes on the day of the party.
Q: What happens if I need to cancel a booking?
If you cancel any bookings within 2 days of the hire date, before collection of the costume, you will be charged a $10 cancellation fee. If you give us more than 2 days notice we will refund any money paid in full.
For example, if your party is on a Saturday, cancellations need to be made on the Wednesday at the latest for a full refund.
Once costumes have been collected and taken from the store for your party we will happily exchange them for the same function date but we do not refund the costume hire.
When purchasing costumes and accessories please choose carefully as we do not refund once purchased. We will however happily exchange any items in original condition with a receipt.
Q. What happens if I damage or lose the costume I have hired?
When you hire a costume you must pay a bond, which is refunded to you when the costume is returned on time and in good condition. The bond is an incentive amount only, and is not enough to cover the replacement cost of the entire costume. If any part of the costume is damaged, lost or stolen, we will deduct the cost of repair/replacement from your bond. If repair/replacement exceeds the amount of the bond, you will be liable for the extra amount.
Q: Should I wash the costume before I return it?
No, this is included in the cost of the hire. We launder, dry clean and sanitize all costumes, wigs and accessories when they are returned to make sure they are clean for the next customer.
If you spill something on the costume you can worsen the damage by trying to clean it, this is why we prefer to do it ourselves.
If costumes are returned in a damaged or excessively stained condition an extra charge will be made for cleaning or repair.
Q: Do you have my size?
We have a wide range of sizes available from extra small to extra large in both men’s and women’s costumes. Many of our costumes can also be altered as required to ensure the best fit.
Q: Do you have costumes for children?
Yes. Our children’s range starts from around a size 4 and includes a wide variety of costumes including pirates, princesses and lots of animals. Children’s costume prices start from $27.
Q: What are your methods of payment?
Payment can be made with cash, EFTPOS, or credit cards. We accept Visa MasterCard, Diners and Ammex. Bonds can also be left on credit card pre-authorizations.
Q: Returns and Late fees?
You must return your costume by the due date. A $10 late fee applies per business day per costume if you are late returning your costume. We will send you an SMS or give you a courtesy call if you are late returning your costume.
