It’s funny how time seems to warp when we try to recall movie dates, and books are the same. It’s incredible that the world’s favourite young wizard, Harry Potter, has been around in print for 20 years! As it happens, we’ve been tricked… Harry has actually been around for 37 years! For those baffled by the mystical maths, Harry came to life in 1997 with The Philosopher’s Stone, but he was actually born to J.K Rowling back in 1990, apparently on a crowded train… fortunately only in her mind!
So here it is: 2018. We are fresh into the New Year and the festive parties are still alive and kicking in our memories. Does that mean we need to calm down and throw in the towel? Of course not. A date ain’t nothin’ but a number, and the many music festivals happening in Australia this January confirm this. The first couple of months of this year promise to be extremely eventful on the festival front.
Dressing up in costume is obviously fun, or we wouldn’t bother doing it! Who doesn’t love to don the occasional brightly-coloured wig or cliché uniform? Costumes don’t necessarily have to be silly though; they can be eye-catchingly beautiful too. Whether we’re dressing up for a night out or dressing up for a costume party, we all want to be unique. So take a look at our unique costume themes ideas and be inspired for an unforgettable costume party!

There aren’t that many movies, especially multi-movie series, that appeal to multiple generations equally. Star Wars is an entertainment phenomenon that kids, parents, and even grandparents can all enjoy together! Whether it’s a family movie night or a group outing to a cosplay convention, Star Wars fandom brings people of all ages together to have fun. Why do we all love Star Wars so much?
We love Star Wars because Star Wars has everything! There’s adventure, romance, teamwork, fantasy, and science fiction in these cross-genre hits that have everything from touching coming of age stories to epic battles of good versus evil.
Love or hate his movies. Quentin Tarantino definitely pulls an emotional response from his audience. His movies are graphic, full of violence and draw you into the surreal world of his creation. Tarantino’s gift is to paint larger than life villains that we can’t help barracking for, with their dysfunctional lives and violent rampages. Over the past half century Tarantino has gifted cinema dozens of classic characters, from Reservoir Dogs through The Hateful Eight – plus, of course, via movies he wrote, like True Romance and Natural Born Killers.

A hen’s party is a once in a lifetime experience that a bride to be shares with her nearest and dearest friends. It’s a last hurrah and a goodbye forever to the single girl lifestyle! There are many reasons why a bride to be might decide not to have the stereotypical hypersexualized night of excess to mark the end of her time as a single woman.
In their own words, “the mission of The Walt Disney Company is to be one of the world’s leading producers and providers of entertainment.” With more than 250 films and counting, it certainly seems like Walt Disney’s dreams came true. Even the oldest of Disney’s iconic characters are alive and well in the minds of children and adults alike.
Disney’s films inspire a lasting nostalgia in viewers, with many having seen their favourite movies time and time again; then there are the gargantuan theme parks frequented by Disney fans from all over the world. Not everybody has the time – or bank balance – to get to one of those, but with a bit of innovation and inspiration, it’s possible to enjoy the Disney themes in other ways. Here are some ideas for you:
It’s not just the clothing though… we love a vintage fashion themed party too! Why is it that we hang on so tenaciously to past eras and fashion? Well, nostalgia is a biggie; it’s an inner yearning to experience life as older generations lived it. Fortunately that’s not so difficult.
