Celebrate Game of thronesBased on George R.R. Martin’s brilliant books, the hugely popular, multi-season show Game of Thrones continues to reign supreme on screens all over the world. We simply cannot get enough of it! The myriad colourful characters with their fascinating quirks and attributes make for endlessly compelling viewing.

Equally compelling is the prospect of dipping wholeheartedly into a medieval fantasy for a costume-fuelled celebration of this epic story. In terms of fancy dress fun, Game of Thrones is pretty hard to beat. The outfits are some of the best around, so as the eighth and final season looms, there was never a better time to fill your chalices with mead and ale… and invoke your inner warrior or medieval queen!

Agree? Well that settles it then! Gather your Thronies, each pick a character and unleash the Game of Thrones party to end all Game of Thrones parties. A bit of Cos’play style partying wouldn’t go amiss while you’ve got the opportunity… so the question is: Who will win, and who will they kill off? The choice is yours.

Let us inspire you with some Game of Thrones costume ideas:

Daenerys Targaryen

Daenerys Targaryen, aka Khaleesi of the Great Grass SeaDaenerys Stormborn and Mother of Dragons… so many names, and so much character! She is the widow of fearless warrior Khal Drogo, and boldly leads a khalasar of 100,000. That’s an impressive amount of power…

One of the reasons we love Daenerys is the array of outfits she appears in throughout the seasons. In terms of dress sense, this queen has it all. Ladies, it’s your turn to rock the party as Mother of Dragons, with your flowing silver mane and pet dragons. Dip into Khaleesi’s epic wardrobe with a number of costume choices, bring out your inner badass and get to slaying those Northern ice dragons.

Jon Snow

Have you ever dreamt of being a member of the Night’s Watch? Well there’s good news then: No Game of Thrones party would be complete without at least one Jon Snow, who born Aegon Targaryen, and is son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen. Like Jon, you can pledge yourself and your army to Daenerys Targaryen over a few meads.

Kit yourself out as the leather-clad Bastard of Winterfell in this super cool Jon Snow costume. Oh, and don’t forget – it would be entirely remiss not to put your all into rocking that infamous hair-do and beard… if you want to be taken seriously as the King of the North, that is!

Khal Drogo

Drogo’s character may have come to an end but there’s no reason he can’t live on through you. This powerful Dothraki khal and fearsome warrior is the beloved of Daenerys in season one. He boasted a formidable beard that only the best of the gene pool could match, but if you haven’t been blessed with comparable follicles, don’t worry… we can help with that!

Perhaps you’ve got the mighty pecs to pull the costume off, but even if not… a costume party is the perfect place to loosen your inhibitions! Get your warrior on with a leather wrap skirt and shin guards and prepare to woo Daenerys all over again. Just a thought, but you might want to pre-warn her!

Jaime Lannister

Jaime Lannister, eldest son of Tywin Lannister, is one seriously suave and handsome villain. Love him or loathe him, that cannot be denied! When Cersei ascended to the Iron Throne, Jaime became the commander of the Lannister armies, before quitting to aid the North face in overcoming the White Walkers.

Why not get Cersei on board to pair up for a couples costume? What a duo… rumour has it that season eight’s White Walkers fight will be the end of Jaime Lannister, so it’s a good time to make sure he goes out with a bang at the costume party!

Joffrey Baratheon

Somebody’s got to be the bad guy, right? If that sounds like fun to you, now is your chance to become the despicable Joffrey Baratheon for a night. Yet another Game of Thrones character who popped off this mortal coil, Joffrey Baratheon was once fearsome in the extreme. The second Baratheon king to grace the Iron Throne, he was a scandal from the beginning, having secretly been born through an incestuous relationship between Cersei and her twin brother, King Robert Baratheon.

If that’s not a reason to drink Joffrey’s character into oblivion, we don’t know what is! Grab your blond locks, crown, sword, fancy red gown and some mead, and you’re good to go.

Cersei Lannister

Cersei Lannister is an absolute necessity at a Game of Thrones costume party – it goes without saying. Widow of King Robert Baratheon and Queen of the Seven Kingdoms, Cersei is Lord Tywin Lannister’s daugher, and Jaime Lannister’s twin.

One of the best things about dressing up as the captivating Cersei Lannister is the bewitchingly beautiful wardrobe she’s flaunted from season one onwards. It’s time to perfect that foreboding stare while you set about fighting for the Iron Throne in your corset, striking the fear of God into the hearts of your party comrades. This queen comes second to none, and we’re sure you won’t let them forget it!
